iPhone 4S is the 5th generation of the iPhone, which is the successor to the Apple iPhone 4 smartphone. It was announced on October 4, 2011 by the Cupertino-based company. The latest iOS device retains the same form factor as the predecessor but now includes several upgrades such as the A5 dual-core chip processor, iOS 5, and an better camera (8 megapixels). It also supports a full 1080p HD resolution video recording; and there's a new feature called Siri, an intelligent assistant that helps you get things done just by asking. One of Apple's founders, Steve Jobs passed away on the 5th of October, the next day after iPhone 4S official launch. Many Apple fans believe that the smartphone was called iPhone 4S meaning "for Steve". Jobs's death has a huge impact on the awareness of the iPhone 4S worldwide.

iPhone 4 is the 4th generation of iPhone, which is the successor to the Apple iPhone 3GS smartphone. The iPhone 4 GSM version was announced in June, 2010. The smartphone was available exclusively through AT&T in the United States. While the iPhone 4 CDMA version was announced in January, 2011. At that time Verizon had reached an agreement with Apple and would begin selling a CDMA iPhone 4 in the U.S., ending Apple's exclusivity agreement with AT&T. Apple iPhone 4 is powered by a single-core Apple A4 chipset, which like all previous iPhone models, manufactured by Samsung. This system-on-a-chip is composed of an ARM Cortex-A8 CPU integrated with a PowerVR SGX 535 GPU. The GSM-equipped and CDMA-equipped iPhone 4 smartphones are identical in appearance. However, aside from the different radios, the GSM and CDMA model have also some differences in features such as call waiting, conference calls, call forwarding, dialing hard pauses, and placing a call on hold.

iPhone 3GS is the 3rd generation of iPhone, which is the successor to the Apple iPhone 3G smartphone. It comes with upgraded hardwares that is faster and better compared to the previous model. The improved processor brings faster performance, and its camera is equipped with higher resolution and video capability, 7.2 Mbit/s HSDPA downloading support. According to the company the "S" in "iPhone 3GS" stands for Speed, no doubt because of the mainly internal changes regarding speed. The iOS device has performance more than twice as fast as the predecessor. Apple has also improved the iPhone camera, increasing its resolution from 2MP to 3MP, and adding video capture and auto-focus function.

iPhone 3G is the 2nd generation of iPhone, which is the successor to the original Apple iPhone smartphone. iPhone 3G comes with iPhone OS version 2.0 which features various new features and improvements over its predecessor, most notably the App Store. New features also included are Apple's MobileMe service, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support, and push email support. Apple iPhone 3G supports GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS. Aside from the new 3G radios and frequencies additions, iPhone 3G has essentially identical hardware specs to the original iPhone e.g. the display is still the same 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels and the similar 2 megapixel camera. However it has plastic back instead of an aluminium one on the original iPhone.
